All the feels this morning…
Last night at 3 am EST, Netflix officially dropped season 1 of our TV Show, Southern Survival!
This morning (and all day since) we have been constantly checking Google Analytics to see the live traffic. Something we have not done to this extent since probably March 2015…
Watching these new visitors interacting with our site, watching them go through the funnel, very exciting. Daniel, Patrick, Richard, and I have literally been screenshotting updates into Slack throughout the day. Even though BattlBox is an established company and site (perhaps not a household name yet), this feels like the next chapter in our story for sure! Whether it works out or not with the show is TBD, it’s definitely going to be an experience…
Around 7 am, we had 100~ visitors on the site at all times. By 11 am, and as I write this at 2:40 pm, we have maintained 200 visitors at all times and we are creeping up to 300 slowly ( http://prntscr.com/tbbz2n ).
I binged through the show in the background earlier this morning (it’s 8 30-minute episodes) and think High Noon and Netflix did an amazing job (and of course our team did a great job as well).
If you have not checked it out, make sure to watch it, https://www.netflix.com/southernsurvival!
From a website perspective, we added a pretty cool new hero image to the site and created a new section of the site for fans of the show. There, on the Southern Survival Landing Page, visitors can pick up actual items that were tested on the show. URL for the landing page is http://tv.battlbox.com/
Excited to see how this next chapter pans out, how that impacts sales and the brand, and what this will lead us to next. I am pretty sure I will be providing some updates as we navigate this new terrain!
UPDATE: Sunday, the 5th, was an epic day. We had over 1,000 visitors on the website for a good part of the day and recorded our 2nd best sales day ever. We also cracked the top 10 in TV Shows in the US.
